Tuesday night at the RHR

After building shelves, to support the electronics,  the first quad unit was installed. After adding the bus wire holders the first run of bus wires were also added. We are now in the early stage of soldering feeder wires to every section of track on the mainline.

In the Thames River area the overhead road bridge was test fitted and the river bank received the base coat of paint. This river bridge and the ones by the Coal mine, require a lot of scenery to be completed before the bridges can be installed.

Elsewhere yard now has all the track and turnouts in place, final adjustments and mainline alignment are still required. Well that's only partly correct, because we are installing a turntable which will require a turnout from both of the Elsewhere and Wellington yards.

The passing track in Fidler was laid, and the industries were test fitted as a start to laying out the town's sidings, the last ones, on the mainline,  to have all of its sidings positioned.

Friday fun at the RHR

With the decision to not have a steelmill, in Hunter, 4 other industries were located there. Buckley Mills is the only industry at the fire door exit, so as not to block access to the fire extinguisher. As there is a lumber mill backdrop there a siding was put in to service it. La France and Schell industries were added to the furnace end. All the tracks were also laid to these industries.

To increase the gravel traffic, a siding was added to Springbank. It will service Zorra Cement. Road access was added with the use of 3 rerailers.

All the sidings in the harbour area of Lincoln were installed. Because of 2 oil backdrops, we are considering adding a siding to service them and the expanded City Services, oil depot.

Meeting night at the RHR.

At the meeting, the financial report was accept. Rick provided information about the Woodstock Train Show and added money from sales into the kitty. The roof leaks were noted and will be watched, the fair board will also be notified.

Rob installed more feeder wires along the west peninsula, as Jim and Joseph laid out DCC equipment in preparation to start wiring in earnest.

Glen continued plastering the cliff along the branchline. This has to be completed before the track is installed.

Rod continued working in the Tatham area, Don and Jeff painted the Thames River banks, Peter worked on the sidings in Lincoln,  I add a spacer under the Lincoln dock and put in the crossover there.

Larry M and I stacked lumber in and on the new lumber storage area, and 5 boxes of fire wood were set out.

It was decided, because of a lack of space and appropriate steel plant buildings, to make Hunter just another town.

Friday fun at the R.H.R.

Rob installed more feeder wires along the west peninsula, and did some track work on the central peninsula.

Glen plastered and painted his way down the branchline, and onto the mountain, that separates the Coal mine and the power plant. Code 100 track was put down in Admiral and most of the industries were located. Two rerailers were put in, to simulate a road crossing, into town.

Tom finished the track in Tatham, adding sidings to Coastal Oil and another industry. I took the liberty to move the one siding to put in Bingham the Mover.

Larry M finished the wood storage shelves under Hunter, added the missing corner post under Dover, and built a shelf to hold the track box.

Tuesday night at the RHR. Sept 21.

Peter worked on the 4 track storage yard, which will hold 24 cars, and Donald continued working on the passenger terminal tracks. Rod worked on the mainline through Tatham, completing the mainline into Wellington.

Don P. And Rob installed feeder wires along the west side of the central peninsula, as Jim installed hydro outlets for the layout. The bus wire holders have been located and set out to be installed.

Don S. and Jeff added a coat of plaster to the Thames River area, soon the mainline can be finished up over the bridge. Glen also plastered the bridge area on the branchline, near the Coal mine. All of the code 83 track was removed on the branchline, to be replaced with code 100, as we have lots of track to spare.

Various members moved material to the new shelves, or otherwise worked on our collection of products. Several part containers of Woodland Secnic ballast were mixed together and we ended with 7 full containers. This ballast will be used on the mainline only, to give us a uniform look. Dave has most of our scenic supplies moved into the cupboards in the kitchen, after several people moved the stove out of the way.

Shelves

Larry and Larry added some 60 feet of shelves, and put up the box shelf.

As we have lots of code 100 track we will do the branchline with code 100 also as it is more reliable.

Friday fun at the RHR

 Sept. 17 2021

Rod and Donald worked on the the west peninsula. Rod laying track in the TATHAM area and Donald worked on the remote switches for the passenger terminal tracks.

Larry M. put in the last of the framework for the shelving under the center peninsula.

Don S. put down plaster cloth on his Newfoundland Railroad and also cut some 2 inch risers for the branchline, which Glen and I turned into benches, so now all of the branchline benchwork is finished. The grade is 2% or less, I think.
